Dr. Jeff Hanson, ND
Dr. Jeff Hanson is a California-licensed Naturopathic Doctor with more than 15 years of experience in regenerative injection therapies and more than 15,000 patient treatments over the course of his career.

About Dr. Jeff Hanson
His clinical focus includes helping patients with joint pain, arthritis, sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions explore non-surgical treatment options including Prolozone, Prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP).
Dr. Hanson received his doctorate in 2007 from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. He then completed a two-year residency in general primary care at the Center for Natural and Integrative Medicine in Orlando, Florida, working alongside Dr. Kirti Kalidas, MD, ND.
A major turning point in Dr. Hanson’s career came when he began working with Dr. Frank Shallenberger at The Nevada Center in Carson City. Dr. Shallenberger is widely known for his work with ozone and Prolozone therapy, and Dr. Hanson originally came to the region specifically to deepen his training and experience with these techniques.
Dr. Hanson continues his work with The Nevada Center while also practicing at Embody Wellness in Folsom, where he has been part of the clinic since 2016.

Regenerative medicine & injection therapy
Dr. Hanson also cares for patients through bioidentical hormone replacement, medically supervised HCG weight loss, interstitial cystitis, heart disease, diabetes and digestive health.
His approach to regenerative medicine
Dr. Hanson doesn’t believe every patient should automatically receive the same injection or the most expensive treatment.
He evaluates each patient’s condition, history and goals and determines which approach may be appropriate. Depending on the individual, treatment options can include Prolozone, PRP and other regenerative injection therapies intended to support the body’s natural healing processes and improve function.
His regenerative practice frequently addresses problems involving the knees, shoulders, hips, back and other musculoskeletal areas, with the goal of helping patients return to the activities that matter to them.

Teaching other healthcare providers
Dr. Hanson’s expertise extends beyond treating patients. For approximately a decade, he has served as an instructor at the American Academy of Ozonotherapy’s annual training, teaching Prolozone, ozone and regenerative injection techniques to healthcare providers from around the country.
That combination of extensive hands-on patient care and years spent teaching other clinicians has helped Dr. Hanson develop a depth of experience in regenerative injection therapy that is unusual in clinical practice.
Author & patient educator
Dr. Hanson is also the author of The Embody Wellness Guide to Regenerative Medicine, a patient-focused guide designed to help people better understand regenerative treatment options, including Prolozone, PRP and other advanced injection therapies.
A lifelong interest in natural health
Dr. Hanson’s interest in health didn’t begin in medical school. He has been “walking the talk” since he was about 12 years old, when wheatgrass shots and carrot juice were already part of his life. Before becoming a physician, he spent three years working on an organic farm and approximately ten years in the natural-food industry.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Hanson later lived in Seattle before moving to the region in 2010. Those experiences helped shape his longstanding interest in nutrition, natural medicine and helping people remain active throughout their lives.
